In 13.8. - 14.8. 2010 we organized the first year of the event Fujara z Povazia (Fujara from Povazie), in which it was declared the first annual competition  Golden Fujara 2010 for fujara producers. From the eighteen registered instruments we choose seven the best.

This year, participation was really varied. In this two-day event was registered eighteen contestants from all over Slovakia and Czech Republic, even one from Germany. Competitive instrumets was evaluated by experienced and respected judges  in the composition of Ladislav Libico, Drahoš Daloš, Branislav Blahovec and Tomáš Kováč.

"The decoration was not so important, the first page was the sound of instruments," said juror Drahoš Daloš. "Even though we could not decide between some two, one of us played and we have the eyes closed and just listened to collect a better instrument."

Many of the competitors produced their fujara just for this event. From Munich arrived to Nemšová with his instrument  Ivan John Maguth. Born in the Orava region but living in Munich since sixteen years. Fujara, which produced in Germany in the competition among the top seven.

The first year of the project Fujara z Povazia we organized in outdoor areal of cafe Oryx. This pleasant cafe has become our home and will also host next years of thisevent. Visitors had the opportunity to preview various folk crafts. The production of musical instruments, pottery, woodcarving  from various corners of Slovakia, but mainly from Považie. They could saw as fujara produced.

The event, the first of its kind in Povazie organized Milan Sedláček with Ivan Bobot. The first year was really satisfied for them. "Even if it cost us a lot of effort, we don´t lost enthusiasm and we certainly want to do so well next year," said Bobot. "Competition probably will not have the production of Fujara, maybe it will be another instrument or something like that."
